Autism Speaks held an awareness event at the University of Rochester Medical Center on Monday.
The event provided information about services and research going on at Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Jill Aldrich organized the event and has a 20-year-old son with autism. “It's really pretty scary when you get that diagnosis.. To have resources like we have here in Rochester, it's good to have a place to go and someone to tell you what to do. It's really very helpful."
April is also national Autism Awareness Month.
