East High senior Cody Pinkins is ranked in the top ten percent of his class and has taken three APs.
Cody Pinkins, East High Scholar Athlete, said, “I like the challenge. You have to pay attention or you can't expect to pass.”
He hopes to own and operate his own business one day and says Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, inspires him.
Pinkins said, “I want to be successful. I don't want to be average. I want to do bigger and better things. I know I can do bigger and better things.”
Cody is a three sport athlete, cross country in the fall, wrestling in the winter and track in the spring. He captains the wrestling team.
Pinkins said, “Wrestling became part of my life in the 6th grade. I was tired of being picked on, so I wanted to be bigger and better. I wanted to be a leader.”
Track was originally a way to keep in shape for wrestling, but Cody says it come naturally.
Pinkins said, “My dad did track, my brothers run track, so I run track.”
On top of his year round athletic commitments, Cody works weekends to help pay for college. He's looking at Brockport or Alfred State.
Pinkins said, “Nervous and excited. I don't want to mess up. I want to pay for it without my mom and day and to say I accomplished something.”
