Monroe County Legislators tabled a proposed law that would place more requirements and costs on antiques and consignment stores. Some people fear it would force some stores out of business.

The law calls for store owners to pay $250 a year for an operating license. They would also have to keep an online database with pictures of all the items they buy.

News10NBC found out the proposal is geared toward tracking stolen goods. Some store owners asked the legislature to change the proposal. It's not clear if this proposal will come back again.

News10NBC will continue to track it for you and bring you any new developments as they become available.
