The Henrietta Fire District will now cover emergency calls in West Brighton.

This decision was made Wednesday night at a town board meeting. The Brighton Town Board voted in favor of bringing those firefighters in.

You may recall people who live in West Brighton voted to dissolve their own fire district last summer. Shortly after, the Rochester Fire Department began covering calls there.

There was opportunity for people to speak before the board voted.

News10NBC is told the town and the Henrietta Fire District hope to begin the transition within 90 days.
