Twenty local CEO's attended a roundtable event hosted by the Greater Rochester Enterprise Thursday morning. Their companies have all been labeled as "poised for growth."
It was the first round of the Economic Gardening Program which is designed to offer tailor-made technical assistance to the companies. Business owners learned how to foster growth through identifying sales leads and opportunities, refining business models and using social media to connect with customers.
"In some cases, folks are looking to enter new markets, leveraging products and opportunities they've had in the pipeline, continuing to innovate, make connections, reach new industries, new marketing targets, and it's all about expansion, everyone's looking to grow from where they started and the Economic Gardening Program is really designed to help them to that...to get to that second phase," said Matt Hurlbutt, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
The discussions are aimed at helping these leaders find different ways to build on their success.
