How to improve Rochester's tourism industry: industry reps meet with legislators

Tourism industry leaders from Rochester are meeting Friday with State and local legislative representatives for a roundtable discussion about issues important to the tourism industry.

Local organizations like VisitRochester and the Rochester Hotel Association, along with the New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association, are looking to advance the tourism industry's agenda in the State legislature. The New York State Hospitality and Tourism Association is a non-profit organization that represents almost 1,300 businesses and groups in the industry.

Issues like statewide funding for tourism and the State's new tourism director will be part of the roundtable discussion. Also up for discussion are the Regional Economic  Development Council grants, and the issue of raising the minimum wage in New York State.

The meeting is Friday, April 12 at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside on Main Street from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
