A new report reveals U.S. infant mortality rates are on the decline.
Data from the national center for health statistics shows a 12-percent drop in infant deaths from 2005 to 2011.
Mortality rates fell for four of the leading causes of death during this period while deaths due to unintentional injuries stayed the same.
Infant deaths declined most rapidly among African-American women while Hispanic women had the least dramatic drop.
