The Better Business Bureau is warning people to watch out for groups asking for donations to help the victims of the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
Officials with the BBB say tragedies inspire scammers to take advantage of the emotion of the event and the public's generosity.

If you are looking to donate, the BBB urges you to check out the charity before donating, see if the charity is registered with the state Attorney General's office and be careful with unfamiliar websites and text messages.
