Police in Rochester are crediting concerned neighbors with helping them stop a burglary attempt. It happened at a home on Magee Avenue, off Dewey Avenue on Wednesday.
Police were called to the area for a report of a burglary just after 9:30 a.m. That's when officers say 19-year-old James Rhomas was trying to kick down the front door of another home down the street.
Investigators say Thomas tried to give police a fake name and further checking showed that Thomas had an active warrant for a felony indictment.
Thomas faces charges for attempted burglary, criminal mischief and criminal impersonation.
