Firefighters had to be extra careful fighting a fire near Turk Hill Road in Fairport on Monday morning.
News10NBC is told molten salt started leaking out of a furnace at the Jasco Heat Treatment Plant around midnight.
Firefighters say maintenance workers noticed the leak which caused items to catch on fire.
Fairport Fire Chief Mike Gropp says they couldn't use water to put out the fire. "It's a non-water building. We have to use dry powder or chemicals. Water reacts with molten salt in a negative manner."
Firefighters say the fire did not cause significant damage to the building and no one was hurt.
