With the Boston Marathon bombing still on everyone's minds, on Sunday Rochester hosted it's half marathon road race.
The fourth annual Flower City Challenge kicked off in downtown Rochester Sunday morning.
Runners, spectators, organizers and law enforcement were all thinking about security.
Organizers say they had to make sure to make safety was a priority, but they said they wanted to also try and keep things close to normal and festive at the same time.
“Typically it was business as usual, but once the incidences occurred, we got together with the city and all the public officials, but then we also added the Boston tribute and just trying to acknowledge what happened up in Boston,” said organizer Ellen Brenner-Boutillier.
Organizers say it was great to see everyone out there participating and taking advantage of the beautiful morning.
