Prescription drug abuse is a problem across the country but health officials say it’s one of the top drug problems in the Rochester area.
Senator Charles Schumer will be in Rochester Tuesday afternoon. He wants to re-classify the painkiller, hydrocodone, as a Schedule II drug. That means rules for prescribing the drug and storing it would get tougher.
Schumer will be at DePaul – a center on Buffalo Road where people can get help with addictions.
News10NBC will have updates tonight at 5 and 6.
