It's a big day for a local high school athlete. The best basketball player in Section V is seeing his dream become a reality.

Antowine Anderson signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Division I Fordham University in New York city.

Anderson led his team out of a rocky start all the way to Glens Falls and a state title. He was named All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year, averaging 16 points, 4 assists and 2 steals for the season and elevated his play during the post-season. His consistency and charisma on the court caught Fordham's attention.

Anderson says what he does in the classroom is just as important as what he does on the court.

Antwoine Anderson said, “I wanted to do this for my mom. For 18 years, she always has been on my back to do this and to do that and so this means a lot. For 10 years, it was basketball, basketball, basketball. Then my sophomore year, I put the work in and became a student and  an athlete and that's why I'm here today.”

When he was asked what his goal is for college, Anderson said to make it to the NCAA tournament.
