Crews will begin work on May 13 on $4.4.-million project to replace the bridge that carries an exit and entrance ramp between Route 96 and I-490 in Perinton.
Work will start the week of May 6 and the bridge will be closed for approximately four months beginning May 13. The new bridge is slated to reopen by August.
Drivers traveling on I-490 westbound will proceed to the next interchange at Route 31 in Pittsford (Exit 28). Motorists can exit and re-enter the expressway to return eastbound to exit at Route 96. The detour will direct motorists on Route 96 to proceed south to the next interchange on Route 96 to enter I-490 westbound. A temporary left-turn lane and traffic signal will be installed on Route 96 to allow motorists access to I-490 westbound at Exit 28 (the interchange closest to Victor.)
There will be no impact to travel in the eastbound direction.
