Four years ago the people who organize the MS Walk in Greece decided to move the walk from April to the first Sunday in May, and on this Sunday that decision paid off.
Six-hundred people walked in perhaps the nicest weather they've ever had for the MS Walk. Security helped people cross some of the busier streets in Greece.
The money raised in the MS Walk has the immediate impact of helping people with multiple sclerosis get the services they need and the long term goal of finding a cure.
“They can just come in the morning of and say 'it's a great day to go for the walk' and come in and turn in some money and (there were) a lot of dogs today too and baby strollers, so it was a great event,” said Greece MS Walk Chair Todd Schirmer.
There are more than 12,000 people in upstate New York with MS.
Organizers say they think Sunday's walk in Greece, along with 18 others in the state, raised more than $1.4 million dollars.
