A man will spend the next one to three years in prison for his role in a deadly crash in Hamlin in June 2011.
Jacob Stevens was sentenced Monday morning on charges of vehicular manslaughter, aggravated assault and driving while ability impaired by marijuana. He previously pleaded guilty in February.
Stevens was driving westbound on Church Road with Danielle Gowanlock of Holley when he failed to stop at the stop sign on Lake Road. Another vehicle hit the passenger side of Stevens’ vehicle. Gowanlock was taken to the hospital after the crash but was later pronounced dead.
