There is some encouraging news about the job market in New York State. The state labor department says the unemployment rate dropped in April.
Officials say April's unemployment rate was 7.8-percent -- the lowest since the end of the recession in 2009. It's down from 8.2-percent in March but it's still slightly higher than the national rate which is 7.5-percent.
The unemployment rate in Rochester was eight-percent in March.
