There was a unique opportunity Saturday for some Rochester City School parents to learn about their children's education.
School officials held the 39th annual "Family Affair in the Park" in Charlotte Saturday afternoon.
Along with all kinds of fun activities, the event also featured presentations about important issues on parenting and being involved in their kids' lives.
“We're encouraging parents to make sure their kids come to school every day. We want parents to be involved in nurturing their kids and making sure that their behavior is appropriate and we're going to provide the education,” said Jerome Underwood from the Rochester City School District.
Families also enjoyed a student art gallery, student performances and even free massages.
