ROCHESTER, NY – The Rochester Rhinos relieved Head Coach Jesse Myers of his responsibilities with the club on Sunday, May 19th, 2013. Adirondack Sports Club, LLC. President and Chief Operating Officer Pat Ercoli will assume the Rhinos head coaching responsibilities effective immediately.

The Rochester Rhinos have a proud tradition, and we have qualified for the playoffs in each of our first 17 years in existence.” Adirondack Sports Club Owner and Chief Executive Officer Rob Clark said. “As an organization we were monitoring the situation, and the Rhinos 1-6-1 record warranted a change. We believe the easiest and most effective transition is for Pat to take on the head coaching responsibilities for the remainder of the season, while we consider a long-term solution for the future.”

USL Hall of Fame member Pat Ercoli coached the Rochester Rhinos during the franchise's most successful period from 1996 to 2004. Ercoli coached in five A-League Finals and won the A-League Championship in 1998, 2000, and 2001. His teams advanced to the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Finals in 1996 and 1999, and the Rochester Rhinos became the only team in the professional era outside of Major League Soccer to win the Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup in 1999. Ercoli complied a 139 – 67 – 15 record as a head coach in the regular season, and the Rhinos won the A-League Regular Season Championship in 1998 and 1999. He won the A-League Coach of the Year Award in 1998, and was inducted into the USL Hall of Fame in 2002.

Right now the Rhinos are effectively at the bottom of the USL PRO table, and we felt that a change was needed.” interim Rhinos Head Coach Pat Ercoli said. We've always been viewed as one of the best clubs outside of Major League Soccer. It's going to be one game at a time as we look to immediately and effectively make the changes necessary to get back to our winning ways. We'd like to thank Jesse Myers for his service to the organization as our head coach.”

Myers was 13 – 13 – 6 in his 32 regular season matches in charge of the Rochester Rhinos. The Rhinos finished second in the USL PRO table last season, and lost on penalties in the USL PRO Semi-Finals. Rochester is currently 12th in the 2013 USL PRO table after taking four points from their first eight matches.

The Rochester Rhinos next home match is Tuesday, May 21st 2013 at 7:35PM in Sahlen's Stadium against the GPS Portland Phoenix in the Second Round of the 100th edition of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
