News10NBC is partnering with Dixon Schwabl Research to get your opinion on all of topics in our community.
In our first poll, we took on the controversial subject of red light cameras. They've been up and operating in Rochester for more than two years now. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says red light cameras cut crashes and fatalities significantly. But some lawmakers say they're inaccurate and punish innocent people.
What do you think? We asked people to rate how they felt about using red light cameras as an approach to traffic safety and 66% had a favorable opinion, only 7% had an unfavorable opinion.
News10NBC also asked if you think the cameras keep intersections safe. 42% said they are an effective way to keep intersections safe and 26% thought they were ineffective.
Each week, News10NBC and Dixon Schwabl Research will take on a different topic each week. If you want to take part in our polls, click here.
