A Warsaw man was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child after state police say he slapped and threw a boy to the floor at the Batavia Wal-Mart.
Christopher Cummings, 28 of Warsaw, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Witnesses tell police he slapped and threw the seven-year-old boy to the floor after loudly yelling at him.
A surveillance camera in the store captured a photo of the suspect. The photo was sent to local media outlets in Batavia and within minutes, police received tips from the community and were able to identify Cummings.
Cummings was arraigned in the Town of Batavia Court and sent to the Genesee County Jail. The boy was taken to the United Memorial Medical Center as a precaution.
