An inside look at a possible career path. That's what students at the MCC Science Camp are getting all week long.
Twenty-six students from East High, Gates Chili and Greece Olympia are all getting to explore the science of optics. They work all-week long to design experiments involving the technology.
News10NBC asked one student what makes a camp like this stand out from a basic day in the classroom.
Kevin Kha, Gates Chili High School, said, “This is very hands-on compared to class. I'm sure not everybody likes to take notes all day. Also, people volunteer to take these classes, it's not a mandatory thing. So people who come here, they're more inspired. If you go to a classroom setting sometimes, they're not as motivated.”
Camp goes until Friday. On Friday, students will present their projects and research to other campers as well as a panel of optic professionals and educators.
