All week long we asked you to nominate and then vote for the best outdoor place around town to have dinner or drinks.
The viewers have spoken. Pelican's Nest Restaurant in Charlotte won our Rochester Rocs Contest. It's patio area sits right on the Genesee River in Charlotte.
The owner, Terry Testa, says it's the wide variety of customers that make Pelican's Nest so unique. There's a lot of eye candy from the views along the river to people watching. Testa says it's a great getaway close to home.
Testa said, "I'll hear all the time, I'll come over to a table and they'll say this reminds me of a place at Pompono Beach or this reminds of a place in Ft. Lauderdale, it feels like I'm in Florida. We hear that a lot just from Rochesterians. It makes us feel like we're on vacation."
By the way, Pelican's Nest has plenty of fun planned for the holiday weekend. Lots of live music with the Skycoasters wrapping things up Sunday night with the annual Summer Beach Bash.
