The Red Wings and Pawtucket Red Sox game is underway at Frontier Field Friday night.
Rochester is on a three game win streak and one of those wins came on the left arm of Andrew Albers, one of two players the Red Wings will send to this year's All-Star game.
Albers is 8-3 with an ERA of 3 this season. The 27 year-old has answered the challenge at every level of the Minor Leagues, a career ERA under 3.
But Albers still has never been given a chance to pitch at the Major League level. It's something he says he can't focus on because he needs to focus on the Red Wings.
“That's not something that I can control. It's not something I'm too worried about. For me, I'm worried about what I can do to get myself prepared for the next time out and you know, if I take care of that, all of those things will take care of themselves in time. It's not something that you can worry about. It's going to stress you out too much. You're going to get down, why is this happening, why isn't this happening. So for me it's about this team right now, doing what I can to help this team win and go about my business,” said Albers.
