The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says a man in his 60's was rescued from Lake Ontario Sunday morning after he was knocked out of a sail boat about a mile from shore.
Officials tell News10NBC that they received calls for a man overboard in the area of Ontario Beach Park at around 10:30 a.m.
Deputies say the man went overboard after he was struck by the sail mast. Another passenger in the boat was unable to help him. However, deputies responded and were able to get the man out of the water.
The victim was taken to the Coast Guard Station and transported by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
