Senator Charles Schumer will talk about the need for better pilot training in the wake of the Asiana Airlines crash in San Francisco over the weekend.
He says there are possible connections with this latest crash and the Colgan Air crash in Buffalo in 2009. Ever since that crash, Schumer has been pushing the Federal Aviation Administration to create stricter training requirements.
Now, with word that a pilot on Flight 214 was landing a Boeing 777 for the first time when it crashed, gives Schumer even more ammunition.
He will be holding a news conference at 3 p.m.
