On Tuesday, area educators will go back to class for special training before the school year begins for most students.
Principals, teachers, nurses and athletic directors will learn how to recognize when students are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Police officers will lead the session at the Quality Inn in Geneseo. The educators will use techniques similar to field sobriety tests.
Organizers of the training program say the sooner educators can identify a student who's under the influence, the sooner they can alert parents and get the child back on track.
