A 46-year-old Farmington man has been arrested after state police say they discovered a cannabis growing operation at his home.

State Police tell News10NBC they executed a search warrant at the home on Deerfield Drive in Farmington and found two marijuana plants, both approximately five feet tall, growing in a garden at the home. Investigators say a makeshift tarp wall was in place to partially conceal the plants from the rest of the garden.

According to troopers, there were two commercial growing cabinets in the basement of the home in addition to commercial grow lights, fans, a venting system, timers and temperature controls. Additionally, police say they seized several marijuana plants that were drying from garage rafters and six ounces of marijuana in baggies.

The owner of the home, David Brill, is facing charges of unlawfully growing cannabis, criminal possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say Brill openly conducted his marijuana growing operation in the presence of his 16-year-old son.
