Seattle firefighters responded early Sunday morning to 911 calls summoning them to the site of a deliberately set fire at Madrona Elementary School. When they arrived, they found a shed fully engulfed in flames; fortunately they were able to put the fire out quickly and prevent it from spreading, but it's still estimated that the fire caused approximately $2,500 worth of damage, including damage to the shed, the school, and the shed's contents.
With the school year just swinging into gear, school budgets are tight for regular expenses, from stocking classrooms with crayons to making sure teachers have the supplies they need. An arson on school property adds to the already high cost burden of running a school: now, Madrona Elementary will need to call in Seattle remodeling companies to help them clear and rebuild the area damaged by fire.
Here's hoping the Settle police find the perpetrator soon.View original post.
