Tuesday is a new start for elementary school students in Newtown, Connecticut who survived a shooting spree.
Children from Sandy Hook Elementary School will begin their new school year since the massacre on December 14, 2012 which killed 20 classmates and six staff members.
This year, students will be in a different building. A nearby middle school, that had been closed down, was renamed Sandy Hook earlier this year. Around the same time, a task force approved a plan to demolish the school where the massacre took place and build a new one on the same site.
That proposal is still awaiting approval by Newtown residents.
