News10NBC caught up with Senator Chuck Schumer and asked him about the situation in Syria and the President's proposal.
He says his biggest concern right now is how broad the proposal is, for instance, it doesn't specifically say there won't be troops on the ground in Syria. Schumer also says he strongly supports a time limit on the proposal.
Sen. Schumer said, "Obviously, these chemical weapons are horrible weapons, but also, obviously, Americans want to focus on jobs, the economy, the middle class, nobody wants to see a prolonged third land war in the Middle East."
Senator Schumer says he'll be heading to Washington for a briefing on the proposal Wednesday and he'll be able to comment further on it after that.
