Local colleges make list of "Best Colleges"

U.S. News and World Report is out with its list of the Best Colleges
in the country and this year, the top spot goes to Princeton University.
Closer to home, the University of Rochester is tied with NYU, Brandeis and William & Mary for number 32 and St. John Fisher College is tied with seven institutions for number 142. RIT is number seven in the top 10 Best Regional Universities in the northern category and the College at Brockport came in at number 54.
It also released new statistics showing that most graduates of prestigious schools leave with smaller debt than peers who attended less prestigious schools.
The study shows some of the best universities are also those with the most successful alumni and interest from their endowments offset the costs for future students.

U of R: 32nd Nationally
St. John Fisher College: 142nd Nationally
RIT: 7th Regionally (Northern Region)
SUNY Geneseo: 15th Regionally (Northern Region)
College at Brockport: 54th Regionally (Northern Region)
Roberts Wesleyan: 74th Regionally (Northern Region)
Hobart/William Smith: 61st for Liberal Arts
