Governor Andrew Cuomo is working to make sure labor costs don’t balloon and contractors stick to deadlines for work on the Rochester Intermodal Transportation Station.
The new 12-000-square foot station on Central Avenue will become a hub for Amtrak, Greyhound, Trailways and someday, possibly high-speed rail.
The governor says there is now a Project Labor Agreement in place which should save 10-percent on salaries and keep the construction process moving.
"The new Rochester Intermodal Station is a significant project that will help meet the growing demand of our travelers in the Finger Lakes region," Governor Cuomo said. "As we move forward on the new station, this Project Labor Agreement will save taxpayer dollars while ensuring an efficient construction process. I commend all those involved in reaching this agreement to ensure that this major project is on track to break ground this winter."
Crews will break ground this winter.
