The Rhinos have been around since 1996 winning three championship and have always been in the playoffs until this past season. An eleventh place finish kept Rochester out of the postseason for the first time in their 18 year existence, so the team is going back to its past. Bob Lilley is returning as head coach.

Lilley manned the sidelines for the Rhinos during the 2010-2011 seasons, winning two division titles before leaving professional coaching.

The 47-year-old Lilley will take over for Rhinos Team President Pat Ercoli, who was the interim coach this past season after Jesse Myers was fired following a 1-6-1 start. The move will officially be announced Wednesday.

In 12 USL Pro seasons, he has compiled a record of 179-96-56. In 2006, Lilley led Vancouver to the first ever USL Pro Title, defeating Rochester in the finals.

Lilley has been coaching academy teams in Pennsylvania the last two years.
