Every year Christmas tree growers, retailers and consumers from across the country donate fresh cut Christmas trees to military families. An annual race is held in our area to help raise funds for this cause.

The Trees for Troops 5K run is an annual event that helps raise money for the Trees for Troops Program, which delivers real Christmas trees to military bases across the country.

The race will be held September 14 at Stokoe Farms in Scottsville. Registration starts at 7:45 a.m. and the race starts at 8:30 a.m. The entry fee is $20, all of which goes to Trees for Troops.
