Some Spencerport area girl scouts are going for a world record in an attempt to help out a local food bank.
Right now, the girls are holding a 24-hour food drive with the goal of collecting a Guinness World record breaking 560,000 pounds of non-perishable food items for Foodlink and local food pantries.
Girl scout Krissy Wilson says, "It makes me feel happy that I'm doing something good, and even if we don't break the record we're doing something good for the people."
The girls still have a long way to go. If you want to help, they'll be collecting food items at the Spencerport Firemen's Carnival Grounds on Union Street until 11 a.m. Sunday.
