People had the chance to sample food from more than 100 area restaurants, all in one place Monday.
It was the 10th annual Festival of Food at the Public Market.
The three hour event started at 6 pm and also featured local bakeries, farms, breweries.
Guests paid $50 and got a tasting plate, wine glass and sampled all they wanted. All of the proceeds from the event benefit Foodlink, which provides food to food pantries all over Upstate New York.
Terra Keller, Foodlink Events Manager said, "It's our biggest fundraiser event and it will bring in about $70,000 which is integral to our operations. Without that, we wouldn't be able to keep some of our food access, nutrition education programs alive in addition to that we have about three dozen food related programs."
Keller says there are about 200,000 people in need of food in our area, and she says every year, with the help of other non-profit organizations, they distribute about 16-million pounds of food to those in need in our area.
