A 48-year-old Canandaigua woman is facing charges after sheriff’s deputies say she kicked a deputy several times and tried to bite him.

Kelly Lee Close is charged with four counts of harassment and resisting arrest.

Deputies say they responded to the Wood Ridge Motel on Lakeshore Drive in Canandaigua around 8 p.m. Thursday for the report of an argument. Investigators say Close harassed her boyfriend by scratching and pushing him during the argument.

Investigators say while she was being arrested, she kicked a deputy several times in his legs and pushed him while he tried to put her in the patrol car. According to deputies, she tried to bite that deputy and then tried to bite another deputy.

Neither deputy was injured in the incident.

Close was arraigned on the charges and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
