Foodlink and Wegmans are partnering up for a first-of-its-kind food drive.
Friday was the kick off of the inaugural "Fill the Bus" food drive Friday. All the food collected through the drive over the next two weeks will go towards Foodlink's BackPack Program.
That program provides Rochester children in need with food on the weekends and holidays, and other times when they don't have access to free meals at school.
If you go to the customer service desk at any of the 21 participating Wegmans stores in the area, you'll find the checklist of nutritious and easy-to-prepare food items. You'll choose the ones you want to purchase and then drop them into the "Fill the Bus" collection bins.
The program runs until October 25.
