Rescuers honored for saving Chili family from house fire

They saved a Chili family from a burning house and on Friday, several firefighters and a postal worker will be honored for their bravery.

The Chili Fire Department along with Barbara Langdon, a mail carrier -- will receive the human service worker courage award.

Langdon saw the fire on Golden Road in January and called 911. She also a 67-year-old woman trying to get out and came to her rescue. Firefighters then got another woman and two children out of the house.

The Ogg family has since recovered from their injuries.

The mail carrier and firefighters who saved them are one of many people getting recognized for their contributions to the community.

The ceremony is being held by the Federation of Social Workers during at 12 p.m. at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
