The National Weather Service has issued a warning for boaters on Lake Ontario from 20 miles north of Webster to Mexico Bay. That warning will last until 12:30 p.m.
The weather service says there have been numerous reports of waterspouts along Lake Ontario near Oswego.
Officials say boaters should remain alert to avoid waterspouts and small boats should move closer to shore or take shelter. Boaters should also expect gusty winds, rains and high waves.
UPDATE: The National Weather Service has extended that warning to 1:30 p.m. News10NBC's Josh Nichols says 42 waterspouts have been seen on Lake Ontario on Sunday.
