State regulators say utilities providing natural gas service across New York have adequate supplies, delivery capacity and storage inventory to meet customer demands under severe winter conditions.
The Public Service Commission says its annual review of utilities' winter preparedness also finds that customer heating bills are expected to increase only slightly this winter. The PSC says total bills are expected to increase by slightly more than 3 percent, or about $6 a month, during the heating season.
There are about 3.9 million natural gas heating customers in New York state.
