Honoring people who make a difference in the lives of children in our area. That was one of the goals of a breakfast hosted by the Children's Institute.

The organization held its community breakfast at the Strathallan Hotel a;long with giving an update on its progress in the community. Organization leaders honored three people who have made significant contributions to children in the Rochester area.

Dirk Hightower, Children's Institute Executive Director, said, "It really highlights people who have gone above and beyond what most people do in the world. They really stretch themselves to provide ongoing support and sometimes its financial but most of the time its intellectual. they have strong commitments to the organization and to children, which is our primary focus."

David Broadbent, a former member of the board of directors, Saron DeVita, a 30-year employee of the Children's Institute and Audrey Cummings, a social worker for the Rochester City School District were the recipients of the year's awards.
