For a young team hitting the road provides a great learning experience and the opportunity to bond as a team with the goal of becoming a tough team to face on the road.
First year head coach Chadd Cassidy says, "The priority is to make sure you're picking up points in all these games and finding ways to get things done. And making sure you're a boring team on the road, a team that's going to hang around and be tough to play against and get your points and get back on the road and do it again the next night. So, it will be a good test for out guys. We need to set the precedence of what type of road team we're going to be this weekend.
part of going on the road is being able to control you emotions, something goaltender Matt Hackett is trying to work on. Hackett says, "Those last two games weren't really my style, I just got off my game a bit. But everyone's got to control their emotions and I have to be the main guy to do that."
Captain Matt Ellis says, "I think everyone knows there's no easy games in this league and every nights going to be a battle. You have to go in a prepare, there's no easy nights and the one thing you can't do is get too far ahead of yourself this weekend with Hamilton and Toronto.
The Amerks travel to Hamilton for a Friday match up with Hamilton and then it's onto Toronto for a showdown with the Marlies.
