Can you imagine dribbling a soccer ball for 100 miles?

That's exactly what a group of local soccer players is doing Saturday night to raise money for the Villa of Hope, a youth services center.

The Empire United Soccer Academy's team of 10-year-olds is holding a relay event. Each girl takes her turn, dribbling for a mile and then trades off.

“This activity on so many levels is beneficial. Obviously kids helping kids is huge and that's something we preach all the time. Our charity is Villa of Hope, a brilliant organization for children who need support, so we have our 10-year-old girls raising money to help other kids, maybe other 10-year-old little girls,” said Ed Sherman, Empire United Soccer Academy.

The team is hoping to raise $18,000. Half of it will go towards Villa of Hope. The event is expected to wrap up around 9 a.m. Sunday.
