Two men wanted for a bank robbery in Irondequoit are in custody Wednesday morning.
Police say a man entered the Citizens Bank on Hudson Avenue Tuesday afternoon and demanded money. A witness told police he saw the man then get into an awaiting vehicle.
Troopers say they saw the suspect's vehicle on the Thruway Tuesday evening in Pembroke, Genesee County. When police tried to stop the vehicle, troopers say the driver, 32-year-old Ab (Armand) Thompson, of Buffalo, refused to pull over. We are told the chase ended when the suspect lost control of the car and crashed into the center median near the Pembroke exit.
Police arrested Thompson and his passenger, 31-year-old Jason S. Simmons, of Tonawanda. Both were charged with robbery and grand larceny and were arraigned in Irondequoit Town Court. Simmons was remanded to the Monroe County Jail without bail. Thompson was sent to the Monroe County Jail on $50,00 cash bail. Both are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
