News10NBC has new information about a local day care worker accused of sexually abusing a child and police are trying to find out if there are more victims.

The Ontario County Sheriff says the victim is a 6-year-old girl. Sean Smith is still in the Ontario County Jail. He worked at Jack n Jill Child Care Center in Victor and police say the abuse happened on Monday.

Those who live near Sean Smith are worried, there are a few children in the apartment complex.  Sheriff's deputies tell us the alleged abuse happened at Jack n Jill Child Care Center Monday. The sheriff say they believe Smith abused the six-year-old girl in front of her three-year-old sister. Right now, investigators don't know if the three year old was also abused. The girls told their mother, who then called 911 and that's what prompted the investigation.

On Thursday afternoon, News10NBC went to Smith's apartment. While no one came to his door, News10NBC did speak to a neighbor who says she is worried children in the neighborhood could have been at risk too.

The Ontario County Sheriff says when investigators went to Smith's apartment to arrest him he did make some admissions that match the young girls' account of what happened. Deputies are now working to talk with parents and children at Jack n Jill to make sure there are no other victims.

Police say you can call them at 585-396-4638 if you have any information that you want to share about Smith or the investigation.
