You have a chance to help seniors stay warm this winter. County Executive Maggie Brooks was on hand Monday morning for the launch of the tenth annual "Coats for Seniors" program. The program aims to provide new and gently used coats to seniors in need this winter.
Officials say more than 5,200 coats have already been donated in past drives.
Donations of new and gently used, adult-sized coats will be accepted on weekdays between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at participating senior centers. Donation boxes will also be set up in the atrium of the Monroe County Office Building, The Monroe County Office for the Aging at Monroe Community Hospital and Colony Dry Cleaners on Howard Road in Gates.
Coats will be accepted until January 2, 2014.
