In the mid-90s John Horace raped and impregnated a comatose woman in a Brighton nursing home. Now, nine months after he was released from prison, Horace is back in jail.
Horace was arrested yesterday, charged with violating his parole. He is in the Monroe County Jail right now.
The State Office of Parole tells I-Team 10 that parole officers watched Horace driving a car yesterday. That violated the terms of his parole. The officers then went to his residence where the state says they found two pornographic DVDs. Another violation, the state says.
Horace was convicted of rape and sex abuse in the mid-90's. He raped and impregnated a comatose woman in a Brighton nursing home. The woman, who was only known by the name Kathy, passed away just weeks before Horace was sentenced to prison. The child, now a teenager, is being raised by relatives.
Horace was released from prison in March, having served two thirds of his sentence. He spent a total of 15 years in prison.
Horace will have a hearing in 15 days.
Within 90 days, an Administrative Law Judge will determine whether he stays in prison.
Based on information from the State Department of Corrections, Horace could stay locked up until the year 2021. That is the maximum length of his sentence.
