Stokoe Farms in Scottsville won Rochester Rocs for Best Tree Farm! Thousands of you voted and this morning, we announced the winner live on News10NBC Today!

The Stokoes tell us it’s a family affair there. The farm has been in the family for more than 200 years.

Suzanne Stokoe said, “My grandfather started planting Christmas trees here on this property as conservation to help with soil erosion and it just grew into a passion. And my father's been growing Christmas trees here for over 30 years.”

We weren't the only ones at Stokoe Farms this morning. A crew from NBC Nightly News was there too along with members of the National Guard and local veterans.

NBC is doing a story on the "Trees for Troops" program. They're going to follow one of the trees from Stokoe Farms as it makes its way from field to soldier.

Be sure to look for that report -- it’s expected to air next Friday on NBC Nightly News.

Congratulations to Stokoe Farms for winning Rochester Rocs best tree farm.
